Bernie is six years old

When Bernie was a newborn up until he was about two he had beige and white markings. About the time he turned two I had him groomed and started to notice that his coat was turning a beautiful sliver and white now. There were still hints of the beige for sometime. Over the last two years it no longer has beige in it. It is a beautiful and so many people comment on how beautiful his coat it. The last time though that I had him groomed I noticed a black spot on his hip area. Since them I am noticing around the outlining of the sliver parts of his coat that it is becoming more with a darker gray. Is this normal do you know. He seems o.k. still full of energy and sometimes being naughty like last night he got into my garbage can in one of my bathrooms. I am hoping that he is o.k.
