I have a beautiful Prapso called Tigerlily (lily) I have been interested in the breed ever since I discovered it. I would love to become a Prapso breeder but can't seem to find any others in the UK. My pooch is so beautiful and I love her personality so much. I hope to see another Prapso one day.

Greetings from Miracle Shih Tzu
Janice Here,
After producing a couple of Prapso puppies, I was shocked to see how much interest people have in this amazing looking Shih Tzu. I've even had people specifically requesting them.
Becoming a Prapso Breeder, however, is not as easy as it sounds. The genes that produce the Prapso puppy, to my knowledge, have not be identified, so it is truly a hit or miss proposition. It is only after you've had numerous litters where you can begin to trace patterns, you begin to see how combining the genes of one dog to those of another can produce something unique.
This is, of course, purely unscientific, but what researcher would get grant money to study genes associated with Prapso in Shih Tzu dogs?
They are healthy, happy and very smart little dogs that owners love. Unless, something of merit would come up, the only way people will learn about Prapso is through breeders.
I personally do not "try" to produce Prapso, they just happen. But, with that said, there seems to be a lot of interest in them, so I won't stop breeding just because a Prapso may be born.
I hope I haven't discouraged you from breeding Prapso, they are amazing dogs. More knowledge is needed and I will continue to research and learn about them. As I do, I will post and share what I find.

I'm a lifelong learner, a dog lover, and passionate about the welfare of animals. Though Shih Tzu is my favorite breed, I've also lived with Poodles, Maltese, Yorkshire Terriers, Beagles, English Bulldogs, Carin Terriers, and a Cocker Spaniel. Little critters that shared my space included guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas, hamsters, mice, tropical fish, and birds. (Oh, and one crayfish and hermit crab that my daughter brought home from school)
